View Full Version : Best way to re-encode a DVD

Hello,

I have a DVD movie which is extremely noisy. I would like to process the video and remove that noise and then re-encode it. I have quite a few options for that task. First thought was to create a d2v project, then create an avisynth scrit, apply de-noising and then import the script into TMPGEnc. Do you think there is a better way of doing that? Any suggestions for the tools that should be used? Another thing: no matter what encoder I use, I'll get an m2v file. Wwhat program should I use in order to multiplex the video with the audio and create a huge VOB file? Then, how can I split that file into smaller VOB files and at the same time match the segments size to the original VOBs? I apologise for asking to much! Thanks in advance :p

Nevermind... Didnt finish reading your post

What is your source?? do you have a huge mpeg stream on your hd or do you have the vob's in dvd structure with the ifo's and everything? Cause if you have the dvd structure you can run it through cce with an avisynth script. Maybe try and use dvd rebuilder.

Dvd Rebuilder allows you to edit the avisynth scripts too.

Thanks for your replies.

Unfortunately, CCE is not free...:( Kick-ass encoder though. I believe, next best choice is TMPGEnc. I've tried it in the past and was satisfied with the result. What do you think?

And somthing that was not answered, taken from my original post: "What program should I use in order to multiplex the video with the audio and create a huge VOB file? Then, how can I split that file into smaller VOB files and at the same time match the segments size to the original VOBs?"

Thanks once again, see you around! :D

Ive heard good things about quenc as well. You should give that a whirl. I dont know about tmpgenc. It seems so slow and the quality isnt anything to write home about.
