Would it be possible to burn an 8-bit audio CD? I did some tests and an 8-bit sound file sounds just about the same as a 16-bit sound file. You could probably get about twice the amount of music on a CD, also. Would it be possible to burn a CD like this? Thanks in advance!

This is not possible for a standard audio CD. The audio must be 44100 hz, 16 bit, stereo.

the audio _can_ be 48k
but thats rare
and you can burn the the audio to a cd but there is not benefit to it
it will still stay the same 80min
and hte 8bit till get up-ed to 16bit
so no point

only if your burning application resamples to 44.1 kHz.
Audio CD is always 44.1 kHz, 16 bit stereo as Moitah already stated

raw-cdda @ 48kHz is not possible,
while DTS-CDDA with 48kHz is possible,
if the CD-Player is connected via optical
or SP-DIF to a DTS-capable receiver.

the analogue output of such DTS-CDDA would either be
random noise, that may harm your Speakers, or
silence (if the CD-Player supresses the noise)
