I'm soon going to try dubbing a French DVD with English audio... I really don't want to recompress the video, but I need a way to replace a small number of frames, to change the French intro title to an English one.
I envisage doing something like removing the GOPs containing the frames I'm interested in, fixing them up, and re-encoding them at a very high bitrate before splicing them back. Is there a tool (or tools) around that will let me do this sensibly? Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
Edit - this looks useful:

(I used Google to translate it out of German).
