I've got my doubt whetter this is the right board, but because there is a difference between my encoding methods...
I've encoded a couple of my movies, and they playback allright on the computer and they did on my DVD player (Philips 622). But when I played it at my fathers (Sony) the movie played a little slower. The voices are a bit lower. So I tested it at two other players; normal speed. (one new Philips, one old one older than the 622) But one day ago my player died :( So I bought a new one, and guess what, slow playback too.

It made me wonder what happened, I tested some of the svcd's. And the ones I made before I used D2SRoBa played okay, but the newer ones didn't. I'm not insinuating it's because of D2SRoBa, but perhaps something went on.

Does somebody know what the possible causes are?

(DVD2SVCD 1.2.2 build 3 & D2SRoBa 3.78)

Some DVD players don't agree with certain types of media, might be worth trying some different brands.

Couldn't be a a PAL NTSC thing?

Some brands (or models) of DVD player are also better at playing different formats (VCD,SVCD) plus stuff backed up onto DVD-R than others. Often the cheaper and more no-name ones are the most compatible, and will play anything you can put on disc:)

So you think it has nothing to do with the encoding process?

I reckon if it was an encoding problem your disc's would display the same level of dodgyness on any player.:)

I wonder if it's an audio sampling thing (assuming we're talking SVCD's)? You might want to try both 48khz(DVD standard) and 44.1khz(SVCD standard and see what your standalone does. There is a tick box on DVD2SVCD's audio tab.

If you really think there is something amiss with your conversions post a logfile for us to pick over.
