Hi, which audio code do you use? How do you edit mpeg2 & rmvb files?

Hi, I'm new to this... Hope you guys out there will help me out...
I used the Real Producer, from 3Gb mpeg2 converted to 300mb rmvb...
but, the audio seems awful, isn't smooth, wonder is it the audio code? Which audio code do you guys use?

How do you edit mpeg2 & rmvb files? Like taking out some scenes ....

To get stuff from the files, you can go through AVISynth.

For audio codec, I use HE-AAC @ 64kbps usualy.
