yesh I just riped 2 cds useing nero's mp3pro encoder
encode quality=highest varibale bitrate=max
and I end up with et fisrt 10-15 seconds of audio withe the correct bitare of about 86 then it slowly creeps up to about 110-130
and I was wondering what happended?
I've riped the said cds twice now and there was little inprovement in totaly the reencode was about 1meg smaller over the cd
and yes i have the plug-in and hte serial and all that
I have full executive edion with all the plug-ins
these mp3s aer going to go an mp3 player so I intional encoded one song to see if it would play on player and it did :)
but when the mp3pros are only a meg each smaller it doesn't seem worth the money ove ra 128meg player
any ideas?

Are you sure your player supports mp3pro at all? I don't think a lot players support mp3pro.
Although all normal mp3 players will play the mp3pro files, they won't be using the "pro" part for the high frequencies, so there is no reason at all to encode to mp3pro. You'd better encode to normal mp3s with LAME (or Nero).

It does somehow support mp3pro
I've listened to the cd and mp3pro off my computer and teh mp3pro off the player
and it all sounds the same except cd did sound a slight bit better but that normal
and yes I used hedphones for the testbiut that still odesn't answer why it made such sratge bitrates

Mp3Pro files, like other SBR technologies, will play on players that do not support Mp3Pro - the problem is, however, the playback will be missing the SBR frequency component, drastically reducing the quality of playback.

like jsut said up abov
it las mp2pro files just hte same as my computer does
and I was wondering about hte weird bitrates not about my mp3 player thank you
jsut tried yet another encode lastnihgt and I still get odd bitrates
although they seems to be geting slightly better each time

@Shingami-Sama:
Because you use VBR mode for encoding...
the encoder will switch to high bitrate if that part of audio is more complex than other.
VBR is better than CBR.;)

finaly someone how read the part wher Isaid it plays fine
ok
theroricaly though it shouldb't go above 96k right?
but it keeps slowly going up
and never varies
just increases, I also tried useing normal nero mp3 same thing but not as bad
with norm it aleast varies
so I'm realy confused:confused:
edit
I missed that implecation that I did;nt now now what vbr does
I do
and it usaly works
but this time it was a crap shoot and did;nt work right at all...

@Shingami-Sama:
VBR = Variable BitRate.
...but it keeps slowly going up and never varies just increases...
What audio player you use to playing mp3pro file?
Some player will display the actual bitrate while playing but the updated bitrate info interval may be larger,
so cause the bitrate never varies while playing.
You can use Encspot or ASFview (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/ASFViewer.aspx) to check the bitrate in the audio file :) .

Like Isaid I already knew that...
and I'm using winamp to play all my music
and it workds for all other vrb mp3s
just not ones made with nero
even if it's with they lame encoder
if I used cdex it works and updates
just not with nero
the bitrate jsut keeps going up and up
it's quite annoying
edit
omg I'm a moron..
I forgot to turn on the mp3pro plug-in ><
still have weird bitrates though :\
144k/s for pro?
doesn't seem right
that was a peak rate though
no differance in quality though :\
just teh display change
souns jsut he same
weird :\

I thinks tihs is a normal behavior for VBR mode mp3pro,
The following is mp3pro info that retrived by encspot console:

mp3pro use MPEG2 layer-3, so the highest bitrate is 160k.
Normal mp3 use MPEG1 layer-3, so the highest bitrate for mp3 is 320k.

hmm
if you use cbr it locks out out at 96...
weird....
