Do you need different "Output" folders AND different "Workpath" folders for each DVD when using batch processing? Or is it sufficient with different "Output" folders?

The reason I am asking is that when doing a batch with several movies, I am running low on HDD space. Being able to reuse the same "workpath" folder would definately save space, but I am wondering if something might get corrupt when doing so.

Thanx!

You can re-use the working folder as long as the output is saved in a separate directory.

Just remember that whenever you start a new job, the working directory is cleared... so if you use the same working directory all the time you won't be able to go back and just "rebuild" -- nor would you be able to continue where you paused (if you started another job in the interim).

Here's an example of a good structure to use when you like to run it overnight and do batch jobs:

D:\DVD
D:\DVD\SOURCE
D:\DVD\SOURCE\JOB1
D:\DVD\SOURCE\JOB2
D:\DVD\SOURCE\JOB3
D:\DVD\WORKING
D:\DVD\WORKING\JOB1
D:\DVD\WORKING\JOB2
D:\DVD\WORKING\JOB3
D:\DVD\OUTPUT
D:\DVD\OUTPUT\JOB1
D:\DVD\OUTPUT\JOB2
D:\DVD\OUTPUT\JOB3

You can read three of your DVDs into the source directories just before going to bed, point them to the appropriate working/output directories and save the project files, and then run the DVDs in batch mode overnight.

The next day you would have three DVD-5 sized jobs ready to burn in the OUTPUT directories...

By the way -- if you are short on space you could use D:\DVD\WORKING (without the subdirectories) as the working directory for all of them... you just wouldn't be able to do an after the fact rebuild on two of the three.
