if i use vobblanker to split a dvd9 and i made it so that disc one only has part of the main movie(lets say cells 1 to 16) then the second disc will have all the extras plus the other half of the main movie(cells 17 to the end).
now when i play disc two, will the blank cells in the beginning play? a four second dealy.
if so can i add a LinkCN 17 cell or pre command that will make it jump to cell 17. will this work?

What? lazy to search? Well...I've just got one thing to say or sing to you.
¯ Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking

Oh ... sweetness, sweetness, I was only joking
When I said by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed
Of course, I was playing with you. We all get lazy sometimes. :p ;)

BTW, did you have LinkCN in RE2 to skip those dummy cells?

[EDIT]For this DVD, I just stripped VOB ID 1 with IfoEdit.

i was just thinking, if cell #1 (in the above case cells 1&2) have a cell command LinkCN 10(or LinkPTT) will cells 2 to 9 ever get play? basicaly does only the first cell need to have the command or all of them(1 to 9).

In theory only the first cell needs a command, but you might enter the PGC directly into a given Cell (for example via the chapter menu), in which case the cell would play, and the next one, etc...

Why bother?
Just use PgcEdit's "Remove Cell" function to delete the first 16 cells of disk 2's movie title.
Same as editing the IFO (as 2COOL did).
If you have a menu on disk 2 (for scene selection etc), you will need to edit it to point to the correct chapter numbers. Best that they retain their numbers - ie Ch 17 stays as 17. Ensure the menu pages for chapters 1-16 can't be viewed or have blanked buttons.

Blutach, I didn't realize that pgcedit could remove a cell "in the middle", I guess I forgot! I've never used that function...

It can remove them from anywhere, but always leaves 1 cell - you can't delete the whole. What it creates is unreferenced material, which, for such a small amount, I'd live with. If you don't like it, run it through VobBlanker, which kills unreffed mat, as you know.

thanks guys,
you bring up some good points, but i'd rather put in cell commands instead of removing them. just in case one day i want to join them back together again. by having them removed might make the process a little longer but do about.

You might want to read this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=85350&highlight=vobblanker+splitting), added with the knowledge in this thread, to help you out for future split projects if that's your intention.

that's cool too.
and with your request of append files to the next starting VOB when extract with vobblanker can make things even easier.
you're just always one step ahead.

Gents,
I, too, may be living in the past, but have never had a problem with IfoEdit making 2 DVDs a la the doom9 tutorial (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-2dvdrs.htm).
