Hello, and welcome to the forum-
I'm sorry, but I can make no sense of that at all (but maybe it's just me). As far as I know, anamorphic DVDs are by definition 16:9. Are you saying you have a widescreen 4:3 DVD?
Anyway, I might suggest you reword it. Use 4:3 or 16:9 for the DAR, and such terms as 1.33:1, 2.35:1, or widescreen and fullscreen when referring to the AR of the movie. Maybe Doom9's article will help explain it:
http://www.doom9.org/aspectratios.htm
Maybe FitCD (http://shh.sysh.de/fitcd.html) will help you with the resizing.
And I guess your destination format is also DVD?

thanks fo uīre answer...
i have a dvd from a film i made (iīm a kameraman)
when i see the film on a dvd-player i see a compressed picture on a 4:3 tv, so i use the butten 16:9 and its a normal unsqueesed picture 16:9
on my pc with powerdvd its the same prob...
1. i like to edit some parts of it for a showreel
2. i like to copy the film for other directors...
it would be great to have it in an verrycompatible format...
what iīm trying now...
1. virtualdub...resize...frameserv...recompress with procoder
- here i get a 4:3 letterboxpicture
2. load the vobīs in womble and export to real 16:9
- here i get real 16:9 not anamorphotic i think?
also the sound is ac3 only in 2. i think its no prob
...evry process take so many time...
is there anny other better more easy way?
...the prob i think is that the person how made the dvd made a mistake cause my dvd-player didīnt notice that it is an anamorphotic dvd. i have no probīs with bought dvdīs
maybe u understand now better my prob
the dvd is 4:3 anamorph progressive 704x576 PAL
so maybe the dvd is DAR 4:3 and should be 16:9? can i just change the flag???
thanks for uīre time and helping

iīm getting close to a solution...
i changed with ifoedit the ar to 16:9 automatic letterboxed...but nero alway brak up after 2 of 4 vobīs???
now evrything looks fine (the first half of the film) but still the vob.-files are 4:3 anamorphic...
is there a possibillity to change that??? is there also somthing like a flag to change????
i think i have to demux change to 16:9 and remux???
plz help once more with a short description or a link to a manual
thanks again
