I searched but couldn't find this mentioned. I am getting the following error quite a bit lately it seems. (It occurred 4 times while backing up Collateral).

Error Line21 at 00:33:00:03 or 00:00:00:00 is across the cell boundry (cell #11 and #12)

What exactly is producing this error, should I be concerned, and if so, how do I fix it?

Thanks

Mac

Line21 is your closed captions stream. i believe those errors are only warnings although my knowledge of CC is severely sketchy at best
personally i would try muxing and if successful, test the output at the cell boundaries and see if the closed captions are okay.
although i am sure a more technical response will be forthcoming :)
cheers

Those errors are caused when the time stamps in a CC stream cross the scene boundry (same type you'll see if a normal subtitle crosses)

Generally speaking it's just a warning and you can move on as normal

Everything compiled fine, I just wanted to be sure that there would be no problems later. Thanks

How would you go about correcting this if you wanted too?

I usually go through the subtitle tracks and correct any overlapping or chapter crossing subs. Those are easy to detect, but; where should I look to see any line 21 errors and how do you fix them?

Also, whats the worst that could happem if you don't fix them? Some players will have problems?

the .SCC file is just a text file w/ start/stop time stampes like the sst..

if it crosses scene boundry, that particular sub/CC isn't shown

So you cannot correct it in scenartist, you have to edit the .SCC text file and re-import it, is that correct?

If thats the case than its not worth the trouble. I'll just live with it. :)

you don't have to reimport... Line21 information isn't read/processed till the movie is compiled so you can change it and recompile the dvd.....

(The file is specified in the DATA section - click in the video asset and view it's properties.. there will be a Line21 File: with a filename... that's the file for this particular asset)
