Hi.
In my latest thread I broke 1 rule and for that, I'm sorry.
Hope it won't happend again.
What I'd like to know is how to pass from 30fps to 25fps (audio and video) without damage...
Thanks...

29.97 fps NTSC to 25 fps PAL conversions are not "Newbie" procedures. This will likely take significantly more knowledge and skill than you possess today.
If you would still like to proceed, we'll need the answers to these questions: What is your source format?
You must inspect a sequence containing motion frame-by-frame to determine if it was Telecined. Is it? (See www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm.)
What is your output format?
What encoding / authoring applications are you using?

Yes, you're correct.
It's heavy.
However, to answer your questions, the output should be either avi or mpeg2 (i want to put it on dvd) at 25fps for PAL system.
I use one of the following:
CCE, TMPGenc, Canopus ProCoder.
At this moment, I'm trying out cce.
DVD author is DVD Maestro...
I've already encoded in cce but the image and sound were slowed down...
This picture is from GSpot about the movie I'me trying to encode...

In case you can't see the image (I couldn't):
the codec is DX50/divx
resolution 352*256 (1:1.38)
bitrate: 1164Kb/s
FPS: 29.970
Qf: 0.431 bits/pixel
Stream type and A/V interleave:
Type: OpenDML AVI
IMRR: 1.00
I/L: 1 vid frame (33 ms) split: no
This is chinese for me but maybe it's plain english for you... :)
Thanks.

i think iirc DVD2SVCD (in AVI2DVD mode) can do the format conversion automatically (just check the NTSC 2 PAL checkbox).
your input video has pretty low resolution though, so do not expect quality results!

edit: forgot, here's the guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd-avi.htm)

Ok. I understand what telecine is but, how can I know that it's telecined?
If it's at 29.97 fps, that sould mean that it is, right?
Being like that, how can I put it at 25fps?
Yes, I know you told me to make it on DVD2SVCD but, I like to be able to make it manually....
Either way, I will try it on DVD2SVCD.
Thanks.

You cannot know if NTSC content has been Telecined unless you examine it, frame by frame.
Telecining is the process of making 29.97 fps video from 24 fps film. Inverse Telecining (IVTC) is the process of reversing that. After IVTC, you have progressive frames at 23.976 fps.
See www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm for more information.

Ok. For the moment, I'll use DVD2SVCD since I'm on an experimental phase but in a few weeks I'll try it.
Just another question, after encoding an AVI at 23.976 in CCE to MPEG2 format at 25fps, the duration of the movie is afected (obviously). How can I extract the audio from the original AVI (therefore 23.976) and put it at 25? I made it but only with AC3 Machine and after putting it on encore dvd, I had problems (errors).
Thanks...
