hey guys

how is it possible that this in the sst 01:50:02:21

actually is 01:49:56:03 in scenarist and on my dvd-player?

i guess it has something to do with the framerate?

does it mean something is wrong?

the subtitles are in sync.. the timecode is the sst just doesn't correspont..

i got everything in sync by just messing around a bit with the input/output fps until the subtitle delay was about the same during the whole movie and after that correct the delay by putting in a delay.. putting in small negative delay.. putting in a even smaller delay etc etc

What program generated the sst?

sst was made with maestrosbt (29,97/29,97 no dropframe)
but i used substation alpha and subtitle workshop for the timecode adjusting..
the subtitles were ripped from a dvdr with hardcoded burned in subs using avisubdetector and a avs/d2v script doitfast4u made..

You've got a conflict there - non-drop is 30fps. If you see a timecode that is lower, as it is in Scenarist, that means it is the non-drop/30fps code.

well the subtitles are in sync on the authored dvd..
does it matter that the sst used wasn't ok?
i mean did that affect the dvd structure or is it just for importing in scenarist and scenarist takes it from there?

If they are in sync then the sst was OK. Scenarist can show you non-drop times, but still import using drop-frame.

how do i avoid this the next time?

what should i do exactly?

the subtitles are on a vhs sourced dvd and hardcoded into the videostream.. so i need avisubdetector.. thats for sure..

lets i rip the dvd with doitfast4u so a .avs is made.. and i work with that in avisubdetector.. after going through the whole movie i have the script in .ssa format..

now what? the dvd i'm gonna put them on is 29,97 fps interlaced ntsc..
