Hi al
It’s my first attempt to make a backup from a DVD. In my case Spiderman
I want to : fit the DVD on a DVD-R
remove al subtitles except the Swedish
keep only the English audio
on the manu: just keep 2 buttons: “play” and “extras”
Softwares I plane to use
DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0
IfoEdit v0,96
DVD Shrink 3,2
I’ve started out with this guide (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/menuidiot.html) and this (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/copy.html#2DVDR) I rip the complete DVD using DVD Decrypter. Opening VIDEO_TS.IFO I got this message (http://members.chello.se/plks/l.JPG) which is as it should –Yes?
but why this message ? (http://members.chello.se/plks/k.JPG)
I continue ? got this message (http://members.chello.se/plks/M.JPG)
So I opened VTS_01_0.IFO .Pressetthe “VOB extras” and this window opened (http://members.chello.se/plks/n.JPG) Here I got trouble:
Should I check does I want to get rid of en then hit the “strip it” button or?

Those messages are OK. But there's an easier way.

Download DVD Shrink (freeware - here at doom9 download's section) and it will do it all for you.

check out these guides (http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php).
and if you want to edit the buttons use MenuEdit.

Thxblutach and sweetness 4 your response.
I’ve been fooling around with DVD Shrink, but found somewhat difficult to edit (cut ant join) with that program…. When searching this forum, I found IfoEdit technique easier.
As I understand it, with DVD Shrink you just blank out the scene, not get rid of it…

Yes, that's true, unless you use reauthor mode, which basically enables you to make a movie only backup.

To blank titles use VobBlanker (which can blank on a cell level and can cut program chains) or PgcEdit (if you wish to blank all the titles in a titleset).

Good luck

thx..
reauthor mode = no menu´s
VobBlanker I cant find, is it the same as VobEdit?

when the DVD starts playing show part of the original menu – with the buttons “play” and “extras”
when hitting “extras” start playing extras

How and with which tools should I do 2 + 3?
