When attempting to backup Little Black Book with VobBlanker I receive a popup window "Input error: Reached end of VOB too early". Here is the Process Log:
----------------------------------------------------------
VTS 01: Opening IFO
VTS 01: Processing VOB (Menus)
VTS 01: Keeping Menu LU 01, PGC 04
Input error: Reached end of VOB too early
VTS 01: Menu final size= 0. Deleting menu.

PostCommands changed into Precommands in 0 PGCs of a total of 0

Finished with ERROR. Process Aborted and not completed

I ripped with DvdDecrypter but during ISO playback it would hang on my computer (ripped in ISO the entire DVD) during the trailers. This is when I took out ol'e trusty VobBlanker and recieved the above error. Of course my output drive was set to "C:\DVD_VIDEO" and the input was "E:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO". I tried to select VIDEO_TS.BUP but the software said no. I think this would be something worth integrating into the VobBlanker software.

Any help would be fantastic. I'm not as conserned about backing up the DVD as I am that this could be either a copy protection scheme or my DVD is damaged.

Seems you didn't decript (rip) your DVD. VobBlanker needs unencripted data...IFOs and BUPs are not encripted, so VobBlanker "usually loads" the DVD but fails when trying to process..

About your problem, try cleaning the DVD or reading (ripping) it in other drive.

Use the new version of DVD Decrypter for this DVD.

Seems to me I just used VobBlanker to rip Resident Evil 2 (New Sony Protection) because DVD Decrypter couldn't. This would make me think VobBlanker could rip and encoded DVD. I will try it in another computer to see if that makes a difference, hope so. If it doesn't work I will still have the original at hand. I copy my DVDs so my kids (in high school) don't screw up the originals like they have in the past.

That's the version I used (3.5.2.0) which added a lot of blank space and that could be my problem. I'm not saying the software has a problem, heck it's probably just operator error. As indicated in my previous post, I will try this rip on a different computer with a fresh Windoze XP Pro load.

The new version of DVD Decrypter can rip both this & RE 2.

Rip in File mode, not ISO. Not sure if VobBlanker can process ISOs (unless they're mounted that is).

(should I begin new post?)
Transferring VHS tapes to DVD using Liteon 5007. It produces DVD with video_RM and video_TS folders. I was using +RW discs so that I could redo if recording process goes wrong ,as I am putting 2-2hr. tapes onto each disc , at 4hr. formatting.
(adjustments have to be made during recording since each tape runs 3-4 mins. beyond 2 hours)
DVDDecrypt handles the +RW disc fine, despite unfinalized state, and existence of 2nd folder -- video_RM.
DVDShrink pops up error about "Invalid structure....etc".
Even if I burn DVDs to non RW , +R discs, as I have resorted to, 'Shrink still will not process the resultant files, tho' I'm now talking fully finalized discs.
VobBlanker was recommended as answer. Alas, it justs sits in silence..."Waiting" status, and does nothing when I load .IFO file from a disc I've recorded, or have copied to hard drive. I was told V'blanker would sanitize the files, so to speak, so that 'Shrink could do it's thing.
Any thoughts?
