This from the mplayer README file:

MEncoder is a command line video encoder for advanced users that can be built
from the MPlayer source tree. An unofficial graphical frontend exists but is
not included.

Anyone know anything about this GUI? Is it any good? Can it be complied for windows?

Thanks v much

Ivan

if you have a look at the mplayer homepage, there are links to lots of mencoder gui's, but of course mencoder is very powerful and offers lots of options, so they differ. and from what i saw they dont offer x264 encoding till now

I initially thought they were refering to a GUI that was being developed by the mplayer team themselves.

I suppose it should say "many unofficial 3rd party GUIs exist but are not included - see the homepage for links" - That would be clearer ;)

considering mplayers linux affinity I doubt there could ever be a presentable GUI on windows ;)
