I have never worked with your program before, so I don't have the knowledge to to everthing perfect. I understood the way of installation as to install NuM4U first, then the Scenarist 3.01. After this I did a restart, opened your programm and were asked for the paths to eclcce.exe and the Scenarist. AviSynth was installed before yet. CCE is version 2.67.0.27
The shortcut for eclcce to ccetsp.exe is given.

I use your tool standalone, I mean without the big3-environment.
Have I forgotten to install or change some settings?

PS. I do not know, what you mean with this q: what build of dvd dec are you using? zeul is asking which version of the program 'DVD Decrypter' - website link (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/) - you have installed. latest version is 3.5.2.0.

robert980

I used version 3510 of the decrypter.
First I copied the files in ifo mode, the second try I wrote it as *.iso.

I think it was correct to select the virtual drive (daemon tools) where I mounted the ISO to (J:), then I selected the output directory. The deleting of the folder which can be seen in the log, was because of my many tries...

If it is helpfull: the menu of the dvd ist about 500 mb, could that be the problem?
what is exactly the first step which normally the proggy should do? Does it a demultiplexing first? Sorry, but as written, I can't see what he is trying to do :)

You will find a 2nd log file in the actual working directory eg G:\Neuer Ordner
This log will explain alot more :D I would point out that if the above is your working directory then it should have no spaces in the filename - spaces can cause unpredictable results, so change it to G:\Neuer_Ordner. The order will be IFO analysis then demuxing

looks likle a pathproblem with dvddecrypter....
but the decrypter isn't needed because the mounted image is the image which was created yet by decrypter.
Also I coudn't find a preference inside NM4U to path the decrypter.

Curious...:)

mhhh the log is too big/long to post it here. Shit I attached it here.

EDIT
Found the Error I had dvddecrypter on my machine, but w/o regentries. It looks like either your proggy takes the pathinformation from the reg or from a subdir in NM4U, beacause I installed the newest version into nm4u\dvd decrypter\ and it WORKS :)
Had I looked into the logfile yesterday I had the problem solved.
Wonderful how a little problem can be a really big thing :)
Thanks for your help and again like many others: great job!!!

Great news
Curious though , how there was no reg entry to dvd dec. NuMenu4u like most programs retrieves the path from the registry. Glad you found the problem.

this registry thing is like that:

I work with drive image to backup my system drive.
At this system partition, only programs are installed, which need regentires to run, others which work without regentires to are at my workpartition.

I installed dvddecrypter some time ago, as with every installation it did create the entires, but with my next system recovering via drive image, this regentry was killed.

Easy to understand, isn't it? :)

So I were an noop to forget that thing.....
and without your find logfile, perhaps I would search for the error a couple of weeks :)

I must say, generally I really don't like this registry things, I prefer I preference where to setup the path to the program and all is fine, but now I know about it and it is ok.

I did my first successful testrun.
Downcoded the menu of the 3rd part of a really big and great trilogy about a lil man and a wizard :) which was about 500 mb big.
I shrinked it with your tool by setting the ultra low bitrate matrix and 3 pass cce mode with a avg bitrate of 1500 and must say the difference between this new menu with 200 mb and the original 500 mb thing is such minor to only see a difference with practised eyes. The original menu was encoded with cbr 5 mbit. I only can say, that is the best way to waste space.

My complete method to copy this dvd is after the step with your tool the usage of the dvd-rebuilder by jdobbs. I think the resulting 4,35 gb thing will be really great.

For me the combination of NM4U and rebuilder is the perfect way to create very high quality backups. So again, thank you VERY MUCH for your work and knowledge :) I will give the best opinion to any guy who's asking for your tool. GREAT!!!

How on earth did you correct this problem?

I am seeing this on a particular series of DVDs, getting no errors on any other dvds that require numenu4u. The symptoms and error message are identical.

I have removed and re-installed dvd decrypter, latest, deamon tools and numenu4u, without any luck.

thanks

exactly the way I wrote :) nothing more

I have noticed from a log file that i was sent, that sometimes the latest builds of dvd decrypter is NOT being used. I believe to the be the root cause. Old builds use a different naming convention, which NuMenu4u isn't expecting.

Make sure you are running DVDDEC 2.5.2.0 please

I've still not resolved this error53 problem, it is different to above posts (i had said it was identical, it isn't), looks like a dvd2avi issue, any ideas? I have the latest versions of everything installed.

Procedure Name: ReadD2VFile
Module Name: AssetProcess

Error Number: 53
Error Description: File not found
Error Source: Project1
Error Line: 13
Call Stack:
ReadD2VFile --> AssetProcess
ProcessVideo --> AssetProcess
NewDVD2AVIProc --> AssetProcess
StartNuMenu4u --> ExecuteProgram
go_Click --> MainForm

In the NuMenue4U log window it stops at...

'Analysing log and D2V files' and then spits out the error53. It only takes it about 10 seconds to get to this point.

I only see this on 2 particular disks that form a series, no others have ever done this.

I'll take advantage of this thread and ask about another error that I have. When I'm opening NuMenu4u 2.0.4 version every time there is "Run-time error '91' Object variable or With block variable not set" What does it mean? (My OS: WXPProf + SP2)

If somewhere is an answer for my question - sorry but I didn't find it :)

Thanks in advance

Hehe...it was very stupid mistake... feel ashamed... I've downloaded just "NuMenu4u latest executable and UpdateMenu.exe bundle"... and if I've understood it well, before I will use NuMenu4u.2.0.4.zip I have to install "NuMenu4u Scenarist Version FULL INSTALL 2.0.4" I've done it and now I have the same problem that is discussing in this thread :) I will read all hint (only on Monday) concern "Error 53" and then I will try to use NuMenu4u.

Thank for Your help :)
