I'm trying to reencode The Two Towers SEE (dutch PAL) but I get the following errors when trying to build the DVD (importing goes fine). I don't know exactly what this error means so I don't know what to do to fix it.
Error Subpicture stream has been disabled in the Subpicture Availabilty flag in Title "VTS1_Title3".
Error Once an subpicture availability is disabled, all subsequent subpicture streams must also be disabled.
Please change in the Property Browser for Title "VTS1_Title3".

Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be created
I've removed all 2.0 audio tracks from the dvd (one DD2.0 audio track, 4 DD2.0 DC tracks). I've run several tests, first with all subs (including the 4 DC sub tracks) and without them, but each time I get the above errors.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? I can always use another program to reencode the dvd (like RB) but I prefer the Big3 method.
If you need more info about the DVD structure, please say so.

My guess is that dvd has an abnormal subtitle layout which Scenararist doesn't like to reauthor manually

if you click the "Scenario / Layout" tab then click on the Titles it questions... in the properties for that Title will be one item called "Subtitile Availablity" - you can either set it to "all" or go into the "Custom" that it's set at and find the stream that's causing the problem..

Scenarist won't allow a disabled stream before active... example:

STream 0 : Available
Stream 1 : Disabled
Stream 2 : Available
Stream 3 : Available

Scenarist will errorout w/ the error you got... you could (in this example) either enable Stream 1 or change the overall from "custom" to "all available"

Once you get it compiled, I'd recommend NOT copying over the subtitle info when you do the ifoupdate state, then check and make sure your subtitles are in the right location.

Okay thanks! That fixed the subs problem.
However, now I get a different error after that ;)
Error The Audio Attributes (Language, coding mode, etc.) of Stream ID 0 in PGC "VTS2_Title10_PGC10"
is different from the existing PGC "VTS2_Title1_PGC1" in Title "VTS2_Title10". The Audio Attributes of PGC's
must be the same within VTS Titles.
Error The Audio Attributes (Language, coding mode, etc.) of Stream ID 0 in PGC "VTS2_Title11_PGC11"
is different from the existing PGC "VTS2_Title1_PGC1" in Title "VTS2_Title11". The Audio Attributes of PGC's
must be the same within VTS Titles.
Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be createdAs far as I can see the audio properties (like language, DTS/DD/AC3 and dummy files are exactly the same.
Any suggestions for this one? ;)

well.. that part you may have to fix from the script...

basically you have audio in the dvd that violates dvd standards... (one may have 448, other is 192 for example)

you can change the script so they all match and scenarist will ignore that they really aren't that....

Kwark: out of interest, what did you use to create the script? also, did you perform any pre-processing/stripping.

D3s7: although it may be likely that the audio streams have different sampling rates, i have also received this error on a few occasions with simple things such as the language being specified differently between tracks - which can be quickly fixed within scenarist.
seems odd that a dvd with the profile/backing of the lord of the rings trilogy would produce a non-compliant dvd

I used the latest ScenAid to generate the script.
I haven't used any preprocessing, apart from NuMenu4U but keeping the old menu didn't fix my problem.

D3s7:
All PGC's in the script seem to have the same properties for all streams, how exactly should I fix it?

All PGC's in the script seem to have the same properties for all streams, how exactly should I fix it?

check if they are all the same in scenarist, track editor and property browser (the same place you've fixed the subs).

If this doen't help it might be different audio sampling rates, which should show from the demuxed filenames.
