This will solve the problems with the new encryption system.
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/DVD-Decrypter-Download-5770.html

Added: Support for different/newer types of 'structure protection'
Added: Support for NEC (new style), Plextor and AOpen (use RICOH tab) Bitsetting
Added: Option to not display the dialog box about loading the MDS and not the ISO
Added: Support for running on multimonitor displays
Changed: Burn engine to relieve stress (caused by a fast executing 'While' loop) on the I/O subsystem when doing the 'Lead-In' stage of the burn
Changed: Window snapping so that it snaps on the middle of the screen and not just at the edges
Changed: 'SetWriteParameters' function to attempt to use the drive specified 'link size'. Also changed to hopefully fix some total failures in setting the parameters on certain drives
Changed: Write retries have been reintroduce (old default = 0, new = 20)
Changed: Drag + Drop code enabled / disabled at different times to help prevent some subclassing problems due to ThemeManager - could cause access violations on some PCs when the app is closed
Changed: Added another URL to the 'check for program update' code
Changed: Behaviour of 'Browse' dialog for ISO Write source files. It will now select the nearest folder to the one last selected
Changed: volume label change code to support split image where the backup volume descriptor is at the end of the disc
Fixed: A bug in the 'check for program update' code that could mean 1 failure causes all the retries to fail too
Fixed: UDF volume label changing code to recalculate descriptor CRC + checksum
Fixed: Major slow down on some 'structure protected' discs
Fixed: A problem with some DVDRAM discs, reading them to images and trying to change the volume label

He obviously forgot one addition:

Support for selecting chapters from the command line :)

Oops, did I add that then? Must have been a while ago and I forgot to make a note of it! lol

Yes, you did - didn't you read your own command line help message? :D (Well, it was me after all who made a request for it, so of course I had to look out for it after you said you had implemented it some time ago... :))

dvddecrypter /mode IFO /src m: /dest c:\temp /vts 14 /pgc 1 /chapters 1 2 3 4

Alas, I just noticed that running that command line will select the wanted chapters, but it will also cause DVD Decrypter to crash on exit:

DVD Decrypter: DVDDecrypter.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c59bbf3.

which, breaking into MSVC6's debugger, spits out the following in the debugger's output window:

[lots and lots of the same lines snipped]
First-chance exception in DVDDecrypter.exe (NTDLL.DLL): 0xC0000025: Noncontinuable Exception.
First-chance exception in DVDDecrypter.exe (NTDLL.DLL): 0xC0000025: Noncontinuable Exception.
First-chance exception in DVDDecrypter.exe: 0xC00000FD: Stack Overflow.
First-chance exception in DVDDecrypter.exe (NTDLL.DLL): 0xC0000025: Noncontinuable Exception.
[some more lines]
First-chance exception in DVDDecrypter.exe (KERNEL32.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation.

Looks like a "proper" infinite recursion to me... :(

I don't even have to start the decrypting process (which works fine), just running the above command line and closing the app is enough. If I leave out the "/chapters" part, everything runs fine...

Damn it!

That's impossible to reproduce under Windows 2003 - even with MEGA debugging enabled.

Stick it under Windows 98 though and it errors out every time! Not sure which OS you're running though but I'm guessing its not XP or 2003 ?

Must admit though, I cant say as I tested that particular function under 98! I just checked that it loaded and closed down ok under 'normal' circumstances - which of course it did.

Anyway, I've found the silly line that caused the problem. As you're the only one who knows about / wanted the chapter cli thingy, maybe I can just mail it to you?

Strange, that...

Eeep - I had it in my comment and somehow deleted it along with another paragraph... *slaps himself*

Anyway, I'm running Windows 2000 SP4.

Funny that something should behave bad in Win98 and 2000, but work from XP onward...

Anyway, feel free to mail it to my new GMail account - pruenner at gmail dot com.

Is it just me or is Decrypter now listing all drives in ISO Write Mode even if they are not burners... I don't think it was like that in 3.5.1.0 was it...

Just curious...

It's just you!

You can make it do that though via the settings if you so wish. Maybe you accidently checked the box that does it?

It's the 'Show all Devices' option on the I/O tab.

It's the 'Show all Devices' option on the I/O tab. Ha Ha... !

That's exactly what I did... Thanks for explaining what I did...

I am one of those guys that wished you gave us the option to have DVD Decrypter allow users to bring forward our preferences when we upgrade... I've asked before and know you prefer not to give us this option, but it never hurts to ask...

Happy New Year and a new donation was just sent! Thanks again for the best Decrypter there is!

I installed this new version and it asked to uninstall the previous version first. I did that and when I started using it I found that the new version could only copy my DVD-Video to ISO at no more than 2x speed. I tried with a few DVDs both Region 1 and 2 and with AnyDVD enabled and disabled. Same problem. I went to Settings and checked the unchecked "Set Read Speed" checkbox and left the default "Read Speed" as "MAX". Then it could go beyond 2x. I remember that I didn't have to do this when I installed the previous version on my fresh WinXP. So I tried unchecking the "Set Read Speed" checkbox and that didn't change anything. So now I have the "Set Read Speed" checkbox unchecked and it can read at max speed. My drive is PX-712A with firmware 1.05.

You shouldnt run the two programs together, they're probably both trying to enable speedread and are cancelling eachother out.

With just my program running, it works fine at full speed. I've tested it with all the plextor drives.

Thanks for your reply, LIGHTNING UK!

I thought they were supposed to work together. AnyDVD or DVD Region+CSS Free to remove the protections, DVD Decrypter or others to work on top of it.

Anyway I think I found what caused the problem. It's PlexTools. When I run Q-Check PI/PO Test the drive is locked at 2x speed and isn't unlocked after the test. Unless DVD Decrypter is set to MAX speed it won't pick up the drive is locked at 2x when it starts.

I could be wrong though.
