it's probably a well known issue but i just cant find a good description for it immediately.
i'm trying to use this bunch of filters instead of 0.9.9.5 package from Tobias' page. the problem happens both if i install splitter and vorbis decoder from 0.9.9.6 package and in case i use only their splitter + some corevorbis version (i tried 1.0, 1.0b6, 1.0b5). all players crash after playing any of my ogg-vorbis music files. they also crash if i try seeking thru the file during playback. oggds.ax is shown as the cause in windows crash message. with 0.9.9.5 package i never had this problem. and i cant use oggds0995+corevorbis either cos they dont agree on data types.
i really need to figure out what it's all about cos i want to try using haali's matroska splitter which requires corevorbis as vorbis decoder.

All the Matroska stuff requires CoreVorbis, OggDS won't work with Matroska. But so far noone complained that CoreVorbis and OggDS don't work well together. Especially since they don't work with the same kind of data. They should never interfere with each other.

Don't hit me for it, but in my experience the easy way is to drop oggds completly and if you come across a .ogm you play it with MPC or any other player that has an internal splitter.

Instead the 0.9.9.6 splitter you can use the internal MPC splitter, which can also be installed seperated from MPC:

(this splitter also works only with CoreVorbis)

Internal MPC OGM splitter is buggy (i dont remember exactly but i think the problem is with the .ogm file size...).
You better remove OggDS 0.9.9.6 and use .5 from Tobias or (better) forget about OGM and use a different container (MKV for example).

moved to container forum, as its a container (ogm) issue from my point of view

i found a solution guys, very simple. i just let them co-exist: full 0.9.9.5 package (splitter&decoder) and corevorbis decoder on the other hand. there's no conflict here at all actually. cos oggds 0995 will never consider corevorbis as its decoder (like i said - not its data type). and haali's matroska splitter will never have to decide between vorbis and corevorbis (only the latter accepted here). so my oggs and ogms now play oggsplitter[0.9.9.5]->vorbis, and mkvs: matroska file [haali's file source+splitter]->corevorbis.
weird though two filters placed in one package (0.9.9.6) dont work together on a simple ogg music file. also im sure i did read somewhere in the forums 0.9.9.6 splitter should work together with corevorbis but it doesnt, it crashes. whatever.. it doesnt really matter now

Here is a simple solution. Just go to 0.9.9.6 ogg splitter properties and untick "Always search to keyframe".
This will solve all the crash problems - seeking, stop playing.
