So the new QuEnc supports direct YV12 colorspace. Actually it only accepts it, no other colorspaces.

So, if I turn off the YUV conversion in the RB menu, will the AVS script (generated by RB) atomatically feed the video in YV12 format without any conversion?

This could be an advantage for the QuEnc when comparing to cinema craft encoder (that uses YUV as input colorspace, thus needing an conversion).
I guess still that the CCE gives better quality over the QuEnc, but at least we could use the original YV12 colorspace without conversion with QuEnc.

But, correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe the today version of CCE supports YV12 as well.

Anyone?

DVD-RB won't add the 'ConvertToYUY2()' if you're using QuEnc, in fact it will use 'ConvertToYV12()' instead. By default the video should already be in YV12, and AVS is smart enough to just skip that line so it doesn't effect performance.

Compared to the quality loss of re-encoding the degradation of a single colorspace conversion isn't significant. So I wouldn't worry about that. The only real problem is the loss of speed for CCE when doing the conversion, but there isn't much you can do about it. According to this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81671&highlight=cce+yv12) CCE will not be supporting YV12.

and for the record QuEnc has always been YV12 only.
