i'm currently using the following:

rebuilder .69
VBR_bias=25
Quality_prec=16
eclPasses=4
CCE SP 2.50
eclcce1.81
AviSynth 2.5

i'm trying to backup saving private ryan and i'm getting the following error messages:

"cce encoding failed: error: video check-sum is defferent from that of previous pass. source video data or time code may be different. please check video tape or the information file.
--- information ---
current: check-sum = 015b4086
previous: check-sum = 015b4473"

i've tried both using the original files from dvddecryptor and using dvdshrink (removing everything except for the movie and audio with no compression). i keep getting the same error no matter what i do. i also tried backing up castaway and many other movies and are getting the same error. is my setting wrong somehow? please help. thanks.

I got the same error, on material I had used CloneDVD to strip out the main movie (I searched high and low to get a good idea of the probs with RB, and noted several 'threads' where this was used with no probs) and the same with Shrink. I've used both for the last couple of years with the 'Big 3' method and have never had any probs.

Until now. Great as I'm trying to evaluate the 'RB' system. (Called 'Fun'..!)

I ran RB with CCE 2.70.02 with absoultely no probs (Same ISO file). That error seems to happend 'right at the end' of the iso file. There have been a couple of threads where folks suggested using a 'file mode' instead of an ISO, I'll give that a try next, on the same basic file. I took the 'output' and burned to DVD-RW w/o problems, except for the dreaded 'green screen', again, right at the end.

FYI I ran just about exactly the same setting except with RB.084.

Unfortunately, no one replied to your message, perhaps you got a reply in some other thread so I'll try search for your username.

the checksum error of 2.50 is independent of dvdrb (you can get it with any software that drives cce, including dvd2svcd etc). it can be caused by memory issues or a problem with your cce install. the search function should get you some advice on this.

Extremely doubtfull, as 2.50 has been running fine for over 2 years under 'Big 3'; the originator of the thread replied to a message that he simply moved on to vr. 2.67 or above, which is what I tried. I still have a couple of possibilites to check out, like having the input in file mode rather than iso.

Well I think it's been a little more then 2 year...Release date Aug 17 2000 for the build I have and from the Web site Version 2.50.01.00 Wednesday, September 6, 2000

And as far as doudtfall... never fails, if I OC my AMD 3200+ and run CCE SP 2.50...

current: check-sum = 015b4086
previous: check-sum = 015b4473

just like that :D

So DVD-RB somehow reaches through the system and changes CCE's checksum? I'm better than I thought.
