View Full Version : Ripping angle 2 material completely from a disc?

Using DVD Stripper, I ripped out everything that would come up if "angle 2" was selected (there's only 2 "angles" on this disc). This fit easily on a DVD5 and I then figured I'd just go ahead and burn it. The movie plays fine on the PC, but the standalone just goes to a black screen and basically hangs the unit. I guess I need to perform an extra step here after ripping that material out, but I know not what, and I can't find any guides to help me. Suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Software dvd players are usually less strict when it comes to playing dvds compared to a standalone player. You probably messed up something in your dvd structure, but it's really hard to tell from the info you're providing.

What other info do you need?

Good question ;)

It's just very hard to tell what's going on. i wouuld start by playing the dvd with ifoedit's dvd player. This is a pretty strict player that normally behaves like a standalone. Maybe it gives an error. If not it could be just a bad burn.

You could also tried the trace function of pgcedit. Maybe something will show up.

It plays fine with IFOEdit's DVD player, so long as it plays angle 1, then when it switches to angle 2 it goes kind of crazy. Still trying to figure out how to use this trace function of pgcedit, I don't know how it works and I don't think it's finding anything wrong (????)

I wish there was a way for IFOEdit to let me edit it to tell it there's only 1 angle instead of 2, but there's no way I can find for that to happen.

Ok, nevermind. I used DVD Decrypter to strip angle 2 out, it's kind of messed up (the special features menu just plays the movie, oh well) ... it's good enough, I've wasted enough time on this, time to move on.
