Hello,

I've got a problem when i decrypt a dvd.
When i play the video from the decrypted vob file, some parts are scintillating.

I've tried with :
Player
DVD Burner LiteOn 832
DVD Burner NEC 3500A
Software
DVD Decrypter
Smart Ripper
Options
Macrovision decode : ON and OFF
Check for structure protection : NORMAL and AGGRESSIVE

It's always the same.

Here is an exemple (xvid encoded for smaller size than the vob ;))

Look at the hairs when she said something like "tomata".

Could someone help me ?

Thx !

Hello, and welcome to the forum-

Part of the problem is that your PAL Escaflowne DVD was made from an NTSC master, and it's loaded with blends/ghosts/double images. But even the NTSC version has that same sort of "shimmer" and rainbows. It has nothing to do with your hardware or software. It's going to look like that no matter how you get it to your hard drive. But I agree with you that it does look pretty bad. What do you plan on doing with the DVDs? Make backup DVDs, SVCDs, AVIs? There are some filters that can help, but they will slow the encoding time tremendously.

You could also search the AviSynth forum, and maybe others for such things as "rainbows", "Restore24", "shimmer", "Guava Comb" and the like.

I would like to do AVIs.
Time is not a huge pb, i will test with filters you have mentionned.

Thank you for your help ! :)
