Forced sub flag?

When backing up a DVD with subtitles, I'd like to preserve the forced sub flag, so that forced subs are played when the player turns subs off and all subs are played when subs are turned on.

The only practicable way I can think of to do this is extract subs twice - once all and once only forced, then mux both streams into the DVD. (Turning on the flag for individual subs is too much work.)

Is there a better way? Is there a program which does this automatically? Am I missing something obvious?

if you run DIF4U on your iso image, it will rip all the assets and all the subs (forced & non forced). If you don't want the normal subs then just delete those folders and preserve the forced ones.

I'd like a single sub stream that will show only forced subs when subs are turned off by the player and will play all subs when subs are turned on by the player. If that's not possible, I'd like to be a close to that as I can be.

I usually backup the main movie only, without any menus, extras, etc.
