View Full Version : Subtitle colors are wrong

I've just reencoded a DVD, LOTR:Fellowship disc1&2 (dutch PAL) and noticed a problem with the subs. I used the new big3 method which worked fine so far.

There are 2 subs for the main movie, english and dutch. The colors of the dutch subs are wrong.
They are yellow (for disc1) and red (for disc2) instead of white (correct color in the original).
I've checked in the ifo's and the color codes are exactly the same.

Does anyone know what's wrong? And more important: how can I fix it?

hmm could be multiple things:

1) what color are they in the scenarist preview screen? If they are white there make sure you used the option to copy color tables.
2) If they are not white ins scenarist then that's your problem. In that case you could either manually set the correct colors in scenarist. Jel wrote a thread on that some time ago. Or you could use the option in scenaid to make the subcolor white by default (in stead of using the original color)

I've already thrown away the scenarist project, but I'm redoing it now with the white subs palette option in scenaid.
I'll let you know if that worked.

Using the white subs option in ScenAid fixed my problem.
I guess I'll use that option from now on for all my encodes. White is much better than yellow or even worse colors.
