Hey there, first post. This is one of a couple sites I've been reading for a long time whenever I need help or suggestions with video projects. So first off, thanks.

I just backed up my copy of Brotherhood of the Wolf using DVD Rebuilder + CCE SP. The backup looks very good, but it seems as though the program automatically removed the french language track. Normally I do remove languages other than english, but I opted to keep the french because it's the original language for the film.
Has anyone ever encountered DVD Rebuilder making this decision without help from the user? I used four passes and it took quite a while. I don't want to try it again until I can figure out if it's going to remove wanted audio tracks without my input on the matter.
I did check the options, and it's not set to automatically remove any language tracks.
I'm using:
DVD Rebuilder v0.67 (Beta)
CCE SP 2.67.00.27
Windows XP Professional SP1
P4 2.6 GHZ, 1 GB RAM
Any ideas? ... and yes, I do own this movie.

By default DVD-RB shouldn't remove any audio tracks and is designed to error on the side of keeping unidentified tracks instead of removing them, so I don't how this could have happened.

Are the french tracks checked off on the main page? If you don't see them listed be sure you have the correct VTS highlighted in the Video Title Set window.

DVD-RB's main window just tells you what is in the IFO files, not what is actually in the VOBs. It's possible that something stripped out the french tracks already. Did you run the source thru any other programs like DVD Shrink which can also be setup to remove audio tracks by default?

You can check to make sure the audio tracks are present in the VOBs by opening the source with DVD Shrink. It will display the tracks and their size, which makes it easy to see which ones have already been stripped.

It probably had defaulted to being removed based upon the setup menu.

If you accidentally removed the French -- you can redo it without having to encode again.

1. In 3-Click mode, do just the prepare phase against the original DVD.
2. Run Prepare (in another directory) against your last encoded directory using either "ReJig" or "No Compression" mode. This will demux the new video you created from the last build you did.
3. Exit DVD-RB
4. Copy all the .MPV files from the ReJig Prepare directory into the original D2VAVS directory.
5. Rename all the .MPV files to .M2V
6. Edit REBUILDER.INF in the D2VAVS directory of the original and change the parameter "PROGRESS=1" TO "PROGRESS=2"
7. Restart DVD-RB in 3-Click mode and select "REBUILD" for the original (make sure the French Language is selected!!!

I do this all the time when I'm testing DVD-RB.

Thanks for the replies; I appreciate it.

I figured out my problem, and it was just me being slightly retarded.

With every DVD I've ever encountered I've been able to switch the audio track via the audio button on my remote. Evidently Brotherhood of the Wolf requires you to exit the movie and switch it in the set-up menu.

I jumped the gun is all. My back up is near perfect with the English, French, and director's commentary tracks. All hail DVD Rebuilder+CCE. Until blank DVD9s are nice and cheap, it's the only way to go for me.

Thanks again.
