Hi guys,
It is possible to convert two full DVD's for 1/2 DVD (using DVD-RB) each one and later to put the two in an only media of DVD containing the two menus main, extra (everything exactly equal). How would that be possible ?
Thank's. ;)

DVD-RB's intent is to reproduce the original structure, so this type of operation would be well beyond it's capabilities or goals.
I've heard this come up a few times in the DVD Authoring forum, et al, but I haven't seen any good solutions beyond re-authoring the movies from scratch and creating a new menu to select which movie to watch. Some type of system that kept the original menus and extras would be nice, but it would be a lot of work to remap the menus to work.
Doom9 has some good authoring guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdauthoring.htm). The basic onces should fit the bill since a simple static menu and 1 audio track should be enough.

Hi wmansir,
Ok. Then possibility doesn't exist of doing that.
Would have that re-author manually same, recreating IFO's, VIDEO_TS, etc, "linking" all of the buttons again. It was what imagined. I think other same way doesn't exist. Right? :(
Cheers.

assuming the menus are compatible, its really a 3 step process with available tools (not all free)
basically can be done either merge first then reencode, or rencode first then merge. I recommend the first one
Using dvd remake pro (www.dimadsoft.com), open both dvd, select merge projects, save output project.
Open new dvd with rebuilder and re-encode. I dont think you will be happy with the results (quality wise) but it will work.

I used the info from the DVD-authoring forum and, after a lot of trial and error, managed to get a working VIDEO_TS directory of Godfather II, containing both DVDs. I have merged (with vobedit and ifoedit) the second disc movie VTS into the first disc movie VTS and created chapters with PGCedit. The final VTS has 13 parts, all the way to VTS_02_13.VOB. PowerDVD plays back the DVD and jumps from chapter (across discs) to chapter with no problem. Of course, it stops at VTS_02_010.VOB, since it is not a compatible filename.
My problem is that, contrary to what I hoped, DVD-RB exhibits the same (albeit specs conforming) behaviour. It only reads the first 9 VOBs. Is there a way to bypass this? My last resort is to encode its DVD seperately and proceed with the merging afterwards. I'm using DVD-RB 0.87a PRO.
Thanks for your time.
