View Full Version : How to choose dummy VTS in this process

Hi,
quite long out of the dvd scene and back to check this new method and new tools, ScenAid & last Numenu4U.
I was using Reauthorist+DIF4U 1.4.7 method until now, no menu re encoding, just some manual modification in menus using MenuEdit.

Anyway, here is my question ; How can I choose not to use at all a VTS which is for example only some trailers I prefer just to delete, and simply use a dummy VTS ?
In ReAuthorist you can choose to remove some PGC and dummy's one are used instead, allowing new higher bitrate for the main movie.

I guess I can uncheck unwanted VTS in DIF4U as I do for VTS I don't want to demux, then manually removed the original VTS by a dummy one, and then continue the process with Scenaid. But I think bitrate calculations are done from DIF4U not Scenaid, so I have to recalculate manually before encoding or use reauthorist just to calculate new bitrate and then modify the CCE file before starting ScenAid.

Hope you understand my question and that there is a simplest way of doing that...

At the moment scenaid can't do bitrate calculations. (it will be added soon hopefully, my current beta is quite good it it ;)).

So you cannot follow this method. What you can do is using RA to only calculate bitates (and after that manually alter the ccedata.txt) and use scenaid to complete the proces

Ok Thanks.
It's not so complex in fact.
In DIF4U I only select VTS/PGC to be re-encoded and start it with or without Numenu4U before.
Then I manually update vob files in VIDEO8TS folder from DIF4U, using MenuEdit to replace unwanted streams with dummy ones.
Then using ifoedit on the corresponding ifo/bup (menu extra, check all, strip it)
Then, starting RA to calculate bitrate with my modified & smaller files in VIDEO_TS.
Then update CCEdata.txt and starting ScenAid and then normal process.

I effectively think that future improvement into ScenAid will be ability to add dummy PGC and bitrate selection/calculation.

Anyway, I am impressed by these 2 tools as I was (and I am still) impressed by DVD Decrypter and DIF4U.
Think I need to donate soon for this 2 new babies :-)

Klona > I didn't clearly catch what you said but if you are still using Reauthorist after DIF4 / Numenu, you can check every VTS with every PGCS (and every audio and subtitles) and then tick off just what you need in Reauthorist, use the automatic bitrate adjustement or you can do it manually with the red and the green gauges of Reauthorist.

Hope my english isn't too bad at this time in the evening :D .

you can also use something like dvdremake before hand then make an iso out of the result and run dif4u on that
