hehehe, I just got one of lidl ireland ;)

The subs are very good news indeed, I didnīt know it supported them....and no it doesnīt support gmc. I may add it does support Qpel, but no custom matrices indeed as far as I could see...all in all, Iīm pretty pleased with it.
Do you know if there are upgrades already out for the firmware, or not?

PS: your link is broken.

no officel fw is out, but at http://www.tenzor.cz/favo/SilverCrest_KH6507/ you can get the original firmware and a sub patcher, then you can make black outline on the subs, looks pretty neat and easyer to read

I would have thought it supports DivX's 1warp-point GMC!

;) Very likely it does, sorry for assuming we were talking about the real mcCoy 3 warp-point stuff :D. It actually produces an image with Xvid gmc encodes, itīs just not very fluid to say the least.(actually itīs horrible)

I found a report of some tests made with this player, which claims it to be able to play Xvid GMC, only without b frames. I may run a test for it, it's interesting.
It's also supposed to handle all sorts of dual audio.

I also found a firmware upgrade already, but it's only for proper display of czech and slovak subtitles.

edit: after testing, the Xvid gmc claim was BS, of course :sly:
