Well, this is going to be bit lengthy,

I have been trying to convert a music file (.wav) to DTS 5.1 surround wav file .

I have done following steps

i opened the file in Sequoia and made a 6 track music file as adviced in the sequoia help section and then bounced to make 6 different wav files , one for every channel (so 5.1 files with proper effects)

Then I opened these files in Surcode DTS encoder to make a single file (.wav) as adviced by surcode software.

I tried to play that file in my computer but the source files (6 wav files ) play well but the single encoded file does not play and only gives harsh disturbance. I have Creative SB live 5.1 sound card

Next i burnt the file on a CDRW as .wav data file and tried to play on my DVD player but the same results

Then again I burnt it with Nero ( in both the cases) as a .cda file but still same result.

I have Samsung E138 DVD Player which is capable to handle Dolby digital and DTS both the formats and I have Yamaha FX450 A/V receiver which is also capable to have both the formats.

My DVDs play well in this setup ( dolby as well as Dts) player automatically recognises the formats and plays it

Then why my music files do not play? What is the mistake I am doing?

Can somebody help me pl?

For dts playback on pc, refer to the DTS Audio FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68300#post424069)

As for dvd player/receiver playback, I believe not all dvd players are able to handle dts-cd (which is what you are trying to do)
Also make sure the file has a 44100Hz samplerate (should do, since you are making it out of a music cd) and that you burn it as audio cd
