Hi,
Can anybody suggest how to keep CCE minimised during
encoding. Every time a new MV2 is created CCE jumps
back to top view.
Thanks.

There is a Minimize encoder check box in the setup screen. just check it and CCE will automatically be minimized. every time its opened.

If your talking about the "run apps minimized" box, That doesn't work. At least on mine the cce screen still pops up. I have not found a way of keeping it minimized.

Wierd. It works fine on my computer. Actually I have been thinking about unchecking it because alot of the time I am double clicking on that icon in my sys tray to find out the progress and speed of the encode. I am running winxp pro with sp1 (no sp2). Nothing special.
EDIT: The fact that your running win 2000 server may have something to do with why it wont stay minimized. Maybe the code was written with WinXP in mind? Who knows? Nobody except JDobbs. Just curious. WHY are you running win2000? Just wondering since in my opinion at least. WinXP is a far superior OS. But I guess that depends on what your doing with your machine. For games and encoding (my two main occupations of my computer) WinXP Pro is phenomenal.

I'm an IT manager and do a lot of work from home. I guess I'm just used to working with 2000 server because I do it day in and day out. On my job I use some home grown database software that was designed on 2000 so I just stick with it. It works great for all my video work and I very rarely play games so I don't see a need to switch at the moment but down the road who knows.

Yea, the only real drawback (at least for me) is 2000's inability to run alot of the games out there. But that doesnt seem like its an issue with you so no real sense in changing stuff around. 2000 is pretty darn stable.

@Theseeker
I have the 'Minimize encoder' check box in the setup screen
already ticked but really doesn't do anything.
After a bit more playing around actually found that
if Re-buider is also minimized into the task bar then
CCE will stay minimized also.
Thanks again.

As far as I know I can tell you this (at least here on my computer) Version 2.67 keeps minimized, version 2.5 don't... I guess the problem only happens with "older" versions:confused:
Can anyone confirm this?

Actually using CCE SP Version 2.67.0.23, does a really good job apart from this annoying pop-up issue.

But its not really an issue with CCE SP 2.67.00.23 because that is the version that I use and like I said it stays minimized just fine for me. Even if I have the Rebuilder window up.

I own CCE 2.67 having it run under WinXP Prof. SP2. The "Minimize Encoder" option in the setup dialog does not work for me regardless of whether DVD-RB is minimzed or not. I had this problem ever since I started to use DVD-RB (version 0.11b I think, but I don't know when this feature was introduced). However, this doesn't matter to me. DVD-RB is a really great program (in fact, in my opinion there's absolutely no alternative for shrinking long movies) and immediately after receiving my credit card in January I'll finally donate to jdobbs.
Wish you all a happy new year!

Just wanted to add to the discussion. I am using CCE SP 2.67.00.23, this version stay minimized, and no. It does stay in the system tray, but like someone said previously when a new file is created it takes focus again in windows (without popping up)Those that want to try, set the screensaver to 10 min and leave the computers, it will stay active (screen)
I never considered this a problem, usually start the encoding process during night and turn off the monitor. but for those that doesnt i can imagine this is annoying.

Have also been doing encoding with CCE and DVDSVCD combination.
Haven't had this pop-up issue DVDSVCD so can only assume there is some issue between Rebuilder & CCE.

I can also report that CCE, won't stay minimized. It pop-up everytime a new segment is being encoded. That Option doesn't work for me :). I dont know perhaps it's a problem with OS, I am using Windows XP SP2

Anyway besides this issue I think that Rebuider/CCE is a solid combination. Have also downloaded two new skins recently and they really have added a great feel to the GUI. Am also about to donate to jdobbs to encourage and support further ideas and development of the program and to show general appreciation for his efforts.

I have the same problem bonefish mentioned: CCE stays minimized, but something (CCE or DVD Rebuilder) keeps stealing the focus, which makes it very hard to do anything else while it's running.
I'm using CCE SP Trial 2.67.00.27 with EclCCE 1.81, DVD Rebuilder 0.72. Is there another version of CCE which doesn't have this problem? Is it related to EclCCE?
Also, would it be possible for Rebuilder to run CCE just once, with a script that encodes all the files, instead of repeatedly launching CCE?

I have checked this problem.
When using CCE 2.67 the encoder will run minimized (icon in the traybar)
When using CCE 2.5 the encoder will popup on each new run.
So my guess it's a problem with version 2.5 only.

Sorry, to bring this old thread up, but i'm using the current pro verison 0.93.2 Beta and CCE 2.5 on WindowsXP SP2 and havin' the same problem, that CCE pops to front , everytime a new cell will be encoded / cce is re-started...
The main problem is that coz it's coming to front, it takes most my cpu time..and my download in the background goes way slower...
Any1 know by now a workaround for that? (i've checked 'minimizee encoders in 'Setup' but that doesnt do the trick')

It's CCE 2.50. There isn't a work around. I still use it also, works fine encoding and I'm not gonna shell out more money for the new ones. You will have to upgrade if it bothers you.

I'm using CCE 2.70.02.00, and have the same problem. It won't stay minimized. When I used 2.67 it did run minimized. I'm using WIN XP Professional with SP2. It is a bit annoying that i pops up every time it starts a new M2Vfile. It has happened that I stopped the prosess accidently.

It's not just CCE SP 2.50. I am using CCE SP 2.67 and it does not minimize either. I never really thought anything about it because it has never minimized for me. I always just figured that it was a problem that would be fixed in future versions.
It may however not think it is checked when it really is. This sounds silly but that may be the cause of another problem I have with OPV. Anyways, I will uncheck it and run again.
Edit:
Nope. Didn't work. It was a thought I guess. Good news is it only took 6 min to test.

Does CCE 2.5 not have to be run with EclCCE? (I can't remember, it's so long since I upgraded to 2.67) - and if it does, does it not have the option to run with Idle priority (or Low if you would prefer) like 2.67 with EclCCE?

1- Yes , it has to be run with EclCCE ;
2- No , it hasn't that option. You got to manual edit EclCCE.ini and add Priority=64 to have it running with Idle priority!!!

Shame, I'll bear that in mind in the future, thanks! (Planning to build myself a machine with an X2 CPU for gaming and encoding and I've heard that CCE 2.5 runs faster than 2.67 on AMD processors).

2.7 minimizes the big window, but not the small windows that show encoding progress. prior versions minimize both.

I agree, CCE 2.67 runs minimized perfectly with that setting, but v.27 won't stay minimized at all
Maybe they sneaked in yet more extra code that needs to be supported to get CCE 2.70 to minimize correctly
It stills runs fine though, regardless of CCE 2.67 or CCE 2.70, just have the window there with the later version
