Overheating CPU?
Try running Prime95 in torture test mode for several hours and see if it reports any errors.

Are you overclocked? Sometimes an overclocked AMD will still pass prime95, yet will freeze up on cce

In that case you haven't run Prime95 long enough. There are three different options for checking the stability, and the one producing most heat would be the one to use in this case. P95 can easily produce higher temperatures (by several degrees) than any encoder just by running the regular Lucas-Lehmer test.

You say you have 1024ddr, im guessing your running 2x512mb ram sticks, and im guessing there in dual channel mode in which case thats the problem... cce2.50 does'nt seen to like dual channel ram.I had the same problem, i even put the ram voltage up to 2.8 at first it seemed ok but that still didn'nt fix the problem. CCE 2.67 works fine though.
Theres a thread in this cce board that i started on the same topic, someone in there mentioned about changing the order of the ram sticks may fix the problem.Never tryed myself though

Yes, that's what I had to do on my NF7-S...single channel. That was why I could run Prine95 (the test that produces the most heat) for over 24 hours and and still crash on cce 2.5. Changing the memory to single channel solved that...It was a some time ago, so I forgot till I read Master Yoda's post

hi
yes, i'm using dual channel. maybe i will change the version of my cce. i hope that will solve the problem...
but i also overlocked my pc. but i have a watercooling system and the temps aren't very high....
i hope that isn't the reason...
thanks for your help and your answers

I have a 2500-M running at 3200 speed.Prime95 in runs fine , it was just cce2.5 that gave me problems even after upping the voltage on the ram.I think the problem is just cce2.5. I changed to cce2.67 and i have not had a problem since.I think cce2.5 had issues with memory but the problem was fix in later versions of cce

i had many times this problem... in the same config: Athlon XP 2500 + NF2 + 1 Gb DDR RAM (dual channel) etc...
my solution is very simple and effective: now i use Pentium4 HT + Abit mobo with I865PE chipset.
encoding speed-up, no any problems :)

If you look at my sig, CobraVerde, you will see that I solved my problems the same way :)
