I tried XCard... well buggy, not realy comfortable.

Are there other oprtions? Such as:
1. AverKey - what about quality??? Moreover - Lite version does have ypbpr output, but not quite clear about other models: 3** & 5**.

2. Video card with HDTV capabilities. Hrm, some based on latest ATi or NVidia? Yeah, may be - but which models exactly can handle this? And price... I'm not hunting for 3D fps - only for video playback quality.

3...

Can anybody advice/recomend good solution for my humble question? Plzzz :D

Well... I tried AverKey Lite - what should say: composite optimised.

S-Video - quality not-so-good.

Component YPbPr - trully fearful picture: chromatic distortions on screen, very strange colours, geometric distortions, monstrous overscan. Otherwise on composite - no such problems: common colours with no chromatic distortions, generic overscan and minimal geomeric distortions... all like generic composite tv-out on generic videocard - that is exactly not what I'm looking for...

So what's left - there is solution on stake: professional presentaional/video studio devices (ex. Kramer). But the price - it's easyly overwhelm a price of newest 3D super-duper cards based on ATi or nVidia, which stated to be Component/HDTV capable and have apropriate dongle included.

Well, I suppose I'll keep SigmaDesigns XCard as video-out device. Alas it's not always good at MPEG4 decoding, but the YPbPr picture itself is considerably good.

As for AverKey Lite... hrm... I guess I'll present it to my syster. :p

Do you really need component out at home?
Personally I have an ATI Radeon 9600 card and I find the S-Video out is quite good (but I'm using component **edit: I meant composite** because my tv doesn't even have S-Video in...)

As you said, you'll probably need something professional like a Matrox Digisuite LE card - I've seen one on ebay that changed owners for "only" 1600 Euro (not even sure if it was broken...)
Much money, but it has broadcast quality component out

Well, yes - I do need/want component at home.

I had compared once s-video & component picture image on my 29" (4:3) Panasonic TV. I'm not videoperfec'o-maniac :D , but progressive scan image is what I prefered after all. It just satisfied my sight more while watching video - "Zatoichi" superbit-DVD was use for comparison.

My current videocard is some ASUS on nVidia GFX5600 chip with standard tv-out capabilities. It had not impressed me of it.

Then I tried SigmaDesigns XCard - as for DVD playback there are no questions, but mpeg4 decoding is not always good. I had evaluated TVedia playes after that - it's do could improve quality through software decoding stage, but on my system it's bit but buggy. So convenience of it is questionable. Anyway - the videopicture itself (s-video, component) - I pressume to be good.

As for ATI-based cards, alas I can't get my handa full of it to do some sort of testing of composite (or any other) tv-out. While comparing AverKey/GFX5600/XCard compostie outs on my TV I made my mind, that there is no critical difference betwen them, though GFX5600 was less preferable - but I think this is common issue on nVidia cards.

Btw, while surfing the net I encountered some PC-to-TV converters with accapatable price, but all ot them where SCART-capable, not YPbPr. But my TV-set don't have one.

But now, while meditating on component video-out, I was inspired to conduct some wierd experiments on VGA-in on my TV-set. After couple of nights and few gallons of beer ;) I found, that besides stated 640x480 resolution in can handle other resolutions on *x480. My GFX5600 agreed (after some nonproductive coupling) to output 720x480 and 848x480. It apears to be anamorfic - 'cuase on TV it looks like common 4:3 picture. There is, however, quite a load of bugs and highly perverted issues on this way, but it's ruther fun, and if I either don't have other way to go yet, then why not ;)...

There was a post here once on how someone had home-made a working VGA-TV adapter (SCART on the TV side, I think). Maybe you can find it (but it seems you already achieved something like that yourself)

Would this (http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2537967) be sufficent (ofcoz. when accompanied with a fairly new Radeon).
