Hi all!
I were going to encode a movie the other day and wanted to remove an annoying first track that plays a bunch of commercials before the acctual movie starts. Since i couldn't find any function in DVD-RB to remove Title Sets, i did it manually by finding and removing the affected .BUP, .IFO and .VOB file.
However, eventhough it played fine in WinDVD, when i tried to Transcode it in DVD-RB i got the error message:
"Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range"
I wonder this:
1. Is it possible, in DVD-RB, to de-select certain Title Sets?
2. Is there an easy way to edit the control-file (.IFO-file if i understand correctly), so that DVD-RB doesn't miss the files i removed?
Thnx!

You would want to use something like dvdremake. (on the original ripped files) then run dvdrb on the output. warning though.. if you still get errors you are on your own. dvdrb was made to make complete dvd backups. (commercials and all ;) )

You removed the video content, but the "control stream" still tries to go there, so I expect that if you cut a DVD it would be unplayable.

Yes - see PGCEdit (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85329) - a great program for editing IFO files.

Thnx for the help folks, i'll try the proggs out. Hope they come with good instructions, 'cause when opening the .ifo-file in IFO Edit, it isn't exactly easy to understand all info in it ;)

If you want to remove an entire set of VOB/IFO/BUP files then VOBBlanker is the way to go. It's very simple to use.
Just select any of the IFOs in your DVD folder and then check off the set you want to blank. Menus are usually place in a VTS_xx_0.VOB file and can be retained or deleted independently from the rest of the video in that VTS which resides in _1.VOB or higher.
VOBBlanker will sometimes decide to checkoff some VTS's to be blanked by default. I don't know what criteria it uses, but you should be aware of that and check to be sure it doesn't blank anything you want to keep.
VOBBlanker is probably the safest to use in terms of DVD-RB, because it only modifies VOBs it intends to blank and those will be ignored by DVD-RB because they are too small after being blanked. However, as with any editor it is still possible to cause navigational errors. The VOBBlanker output might have problems which will of course be reproduced by DVD-RB.
