hey guys

i have some dodgy vhs sourced dvdrs with burned-in (into videostream) subtitles..

now i want to extract these subtitles..

what is the easiest way?

i understand there is probably no automated way to do this and it will come down to manual typing..

still what is the easiest way to do this and at the same time keeping the timings right?

i guess i need something like a program that is divided in a plaback part at the top and a typing box at the bottom.. do you can play or go frame by frame through the dvdr and type the subtitles.. i'm hoping the program will add the timecodes itself.. if the program exist at all (:

other suggestions are welcome too ofcourse (:

Im guessing AVIsubDetector will do the best job. Rip it then add it as an avi by making an avisynth script.

If you rip the dvd then use vobedit to demux to an m2v file then make an avisynth script to import it into avisubdetector

that seems to work but hell has this program a lot of options!

is there a guide somewhere?
