I was using AutoGK and could only do 2 subtitles when I encoded a movie job. Now I want to rip another subtitle (or more). How can I get the subtitles without going through the reencoding process?

Also, AutoGK subtitles came out as three files:

.idx
.sub
.rar

what are they?

IDX + SUB are subtitles in VobSub format. RAR is a WinRAR archive (probably contains compressed .sub file)

Hope this helps

Yes, the rar file does contain a compressed .sub file. But why? Can we delete the .sub file and VobSub will auto use the compressed file?

I used AutoGK to create my divx and subtitles. However the limitations of AutoGK is that it can only create max. 2 different subtitles on one job. Am wondering whether the .sub files contain both the subtitles I have encoded. I couldn't tell coz I selected English Wide and English Pan & Scan.

Am doing another encode, but this time with English Letterbox and Korean Letterbox.

Strange how AutoGK wouldn't create a new job til I changed the audio from 5 channel to 2 channel (different audio channel).

Yes, VSFilter should be able to read the .sub out of RAR. (RadLight which also supports VobSubs can't do this). Delete or not, it's up to you but the compression ratio is usually very good.
