View Full Version : Burned flick starts late, not split

Greetings experts. This is my first post. Is there a setting in IFOEDIT that will place the physical start of a movie on a DVD a little later on the disc than the default start location?

When IFOEDIT creates DVD structure files (IFO, VOB), the movie skips chapter 1 when played on my standalone player. Nor can I "rewind" back to chapter 1. I made the chapter file myself (2 minute chaps) and if I use no chapter file, the DVD won't play at all on my standalone player.

The movie starts fine on my PC's player. Moreover, the movie plays fine on my standalone if I let DVD Shrink re-work the structure files created by IFOEDIT. It's as if IFOEDIT configures the movie data to start too early on the disc for the likes of my standalone player.

I've tried IFOEDIT versions 960 and 971, all settings left at default. I use CopyToDVD for burning, which always works great burning DVDs prepared by DVD Shrink.

Sounds like you have an entry point that is wrong. If DVD Shrink fixes it, then no probs, yes?

But perhaps all you need is a mock strip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84097) in IfoEdit. Did you try that?

Btw: when using Ifoedit take note of how to make it go faster (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=268704#post268704)

Thank you blutach. Perhaps I will investigate mock strip when I get time. I appreciate your taking the time to respond.
