What is the current 'best' DVD drive for ripping?

I've heard that some throttle the speed back.

I dont think we allow 'what's the best' type of questions because there is no definative answer. Everyone has their own preferences.

Most drives that are speed locked can have those locks removed anyway so just go for a reliable make - i.e. not a 'generic dvdrom' one!
