hi guys!
i have the LG GSA-4120B For a few months now and i finaly got 4 DL Media to test with. the media is ritek (witch later i found that thay are crap!!!) and the movie wes "rain man".
first test : i riped the movie to hard drive using decrypter, i than opend nero 6.6 and loaded the files there (basicly i did evrything the same as 4.7 dvd).
after 45 min. the burning process wes done i went to watch the dvd in my pioneer 533k standalone. everything was grate untill it reaches the layer brake and than froze! i rushed to this forum to find out that nero has an issue with layer brake but i tryed it again with clone dvd2 which remove the layer brake and nero again which enter a new layer brake. the results was the same!!
my 3rd try was with decrypter iso read\write method and it worked grate on my standalone and my pc.
when i checked the IFO's on first 2 discs i found that the first one had 2 layer brake, one after the other (which is def WRONG!)
the second one had one layer brake (cos' clone dvd2 has remove it and nero add a new one) but not in the same place as the original.
the 3rd disc wes perfectly readable cos' it was a perfect copy with the original layer brake.
my opinion is that nero is missing something importent which i lerned through these testings... layer brake has to be on a cell which has a NON SEAMLESS flag!!!
on my second try when nero add a new layer brake, it puts it in a diferent position (1 cell before the original) which probebly has a seamless flag. that's why it didn't worked.
well' i also made a little project in scenarist (my fav movie "scent of a woman") to test if scenarist can generate a decent layer brake... the results was perfect!!! and scenarist also gave the cell a non seamless flag automaticly.
all this leads me to the piont that when all of you who try to burn a dual layer dvd, have to know that its NOT only on the IFO!!! check if the layer brake is positioned on a cell with non seamless flag!!!
i hope i helped all of you with my testing.
and please forgive my english...;)
