Avi to DVD Sound out of sync

For quite a while now I have been burning avi films and then letting nero convert it so that it can be played on a dvd player.

But very recently when-ever I do this the audio is way out of sync with the film.

Iam using nero 6
Windows XP pro (service pack 2)

I tried reinstalling Nero but the problem still equists.

Any ideas?

This would not be a burning issue, rather it's a case of Nero being crap at converting avis.
