Blu-Ray has already been kind enough to publish white papers detailing the file format for BD-ROM (MPEG-2 Transport Streams) as well as the directory structure, but I can not find equivalent information for HD-DVD. Does anyone know what format HD-DVD will use to encapsulate the MPEG-2/AVC/VC-9 streams?

it seems the dvd forum finally made some decisions on this topic in the latest meeting:
2 Approval of "HD DVD-ROM File System Spec. Ver.0.9" approved
3 Approval of "HD DVD-Rewritable File System Spec. Ver.0.9" approved

its about dvd-rom and dvd-r, but at least its a beginning :)

Yeah, I saw this, too - they definitely seem to be making progess - it's just too bad they are being so secretive about it. I suspect that you have to be a DVD Forum "member" to get access to the good stuff.
