i just install an 200gb WD HD, and used data lifeguard to prerare it for uses, unfortunalty, i forgot about about the whole 137 barrier, so i'm screwed, but then i use PartitionMagic 8.0, which allowed me to surpase the 137gb limit, so i split it into 3 parts (1, 92.6, 92,6gb)

now the question:

without upgrading to XP, or using an controller card*, is it safe to use?

* i have a Promise Ultra66, for my cd-rom(s), cause well ...it's an 66, and i don't know what kind of drawbacks of using an 66 for a 100/133 HD or if it will even work for my 200gb HD

Well WinME isn't safe to use on anything! It's the most horrendous operating system in the world ever!

Please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get yourself Win2k or SOMETHING that's not ME!

i'd install win2k a day after the post, now i can't get tmpgenc to load avi & srt together like before; if i can't figure out how to fix it by tomorrow, i going back to winme, which isn't a bad thing (for me)

My OS history...

Win95 = Much problems and at least a dozen crashes per day

WinME = Only a few problems but still 2 or 3 crashes per day

WinXP = Some small problems but less than 1 crash per week

Bye

win98se - no problems (that i can remember), just like the new icons in winme

winme - crashes maybe twice a month (lucky me)

win2k - takes too long to load, tmpgenc (as stated), and 4 DAMN floppies just to install, w/o having a multi-OS

winxp - don't remember, too lazy to get used to
