I check serveral NTSC interlaced DVDs I owned, and found their field orders is not specified.I try assume both bff and tff in avs,but I really can't found frames runs in wrong order. The horizon motion is always correct. Is there anything wrong with my eyes?
Or is it possible a DVD video without field order specified?
Any help is appreciate.
If it's possible, can I use any order in deinterlace filter like kerneldeint?

Are you sure the material is video (truly interlaced) and not film (progressive)?

I can't found 2:3 dups in those clips when apply separatefields().
So I assume they're true interlace or progressive clips.
When I preview it in DGIndex,it also show "interlace" flag.
These serveral clips are new ones.
One of them is just released on 17th this month.

Try Bob(). Are there any dupes or is every frame different? Open the VOB directly in VDubMod. Does it show combing artifacts in every frame?

The flag doesn't tell much and it often shows incorrect information.

So I assume they're true interlace or progressive clips. If you step through a sequence of frames after calling SeparateFields(), it should be obvious whether the video is TFF or BFF. (If motion appears normal, you're using the right field order. If motion jitters back and forth, you have the field order backwards.)

Do you mean bob before I search for dups?
No dups,every frame is different.
I've load the VOB into VDubMod and found no artifacts in every frame(maybe, because I've no enough time to watch it through).
And so is decode with dgdecode.

Yes,I've notice this bug.And thank you for your advice.
According to the test result,I think it's a pure progrssive clip.
Am I right?
And one more question:generally,if clips from the same DVD have the same frame type?

Thanks.
I know this method,I use it at first.
But the result confused me a lot.
Maybe I've found the way now.
