I originally bought a generic artec dvd dual media burner in hopes of backing up my collection. After installing and burning one image i was angry to see that it wouldn't play completly in any of my dvd players. I kept getting this "unable to read disk" error on or about the fourth chapter. My friend recently purchased a memorex dual format double layer 16x dvd+r 8x dvd-r and his worked perfectly. So i went out and bought one as well and still had the same problems. Sometimes it won;t even make it to the title menu. Frustration set in I started to think it was my computer. I mean we use the same media "memorex dvd-r 8x" same dvddecryptor and dvd shrink and the nero 6 bundled with the writer but why does his work and not mine. So I decided to reformat my whole computer thinking that might do the trick. well unfortunately it didn't. I am still stuck with the same problem. Any ideas or comeents would be greatly appreciated on this one. ill continue searching to see if there is any information on it as well thankx for your time.
