i have a problem with a film coded with the latest 128build of xvid
it's in a mkv container with ogg sound
it manages to crash bsplayer 812 and mediaplayer classic wether i try to decode it with xvid 1.0.2, xvid 1.1, divx5.1.1, ffdshow latest
could i have some opinions?
the bsplay crashing occures after playing a few frames
classic media player just loads and unloads
i put the movie in a avi container without sound and this time works just fine. i tested the mkv version with vdubmod and no error is reported.
any ideea?

hmmm; get rid of all codec-packs that you have installed and only install the MPEG-4 pack from packs.matroska.org (which includes the mkv-splitter and ffdshow for decoding the video)?

(if not, pls, note alex, and he will, definitely :-)
if another stuff coded and packed this way worked, it must be a packing problem.

Teegedeck: tnx for the advice
downloaded matroska codec pack full and the problem stopped
and as a bonus now i can see in the properties what is the structure of the file:)
and i think that matroska and ogg are not so exotic. they're only pretty new. but they have potential
go ahead matroska and ogg guys
:thanks:
