hi , how can i cut away a permanent text in a dvd-movie ? thx for info.

It will be hard to do so if the text is burnt into the movie.
If your source has a ratio of 4:3 picture, you can crop it to a 16:9 ofcoz loosing part of the picture.

you'd need something that does inpainting. not an easily achieved task, and results are usually somewhat flawed even when it works.
what movie is this? the only movie i know that's 16:9 with burnt-in subs is Amelie.

i think it is hard to achieve unless you can live with artifacts around your old text. It is easier to find a copy without the text.

If I recall correctly, lots of R1s have burnt in subtitles: LOTR comes immediately to mind, but there are plenty of others.

The most common people run across is the hard coded dutch subs from the dutch release groups. Unfortunately, these are not removable with any reasonable amount of time and effort.
