Freezing

I know this question has been asked a thousand times but why is it when you make a backup DVD it plays fine onthe PC but may freeze on a standalone player. Thanks for your patience.

discs are stupid at the moment, and fek-all of them are properly DVD compliant.

i find my standalone handles +R much better than -R. i haven't been able to play a single -R from any brand all the way through - it'll glitch out and stop the player at about the 1h 20 mark, without fail. +R doesn't glitch at all on my main standalone (but my toshiba can't play anything but pressed discs, in spite of what the salesman said :()

try a DVD+RW. these work flawlessly in my player, and if you mess up you can burn it again :)
