View Full Version : BUG: Anamorphic Video

I have an anamorphic DVD that AutoGK keeps encoding as if it were 1:1 (or possibly 4:3 can't tell) - The point is, the picture is incredibly stretched vertically because AutoGK doesn't recognize that the source is Anamorphic. For the life of me, I can't find the setting to over-ride the automatically detected aspect ration.
Dr.DivX handles the same DVD just fine.

Ya, I read that one already
The problem is that you don't know the VOB is incorrectly encoded until after AutoGK produces a movie that looks off.
Also, I'm a little skeptical that this really is an issue of the VOB being incorrect. I'm not talking about homemade DVDs or independant films - and Dr.DivX detects them properly.

That what the preview is for. I personally never had any problems with AR.
P.S. AutoGK trusts DGIndex when is comes to AR, so if DG was around he could have a look at why detection is failing there (what is stream info file saying btw?), otherwise we have to live with solution described in the FAQ.

I had this problem only once. After finding the problem as you note (once the AutoGK encode was done and it didn't look right), I viewed the VOB file with MediaPlayerClassic, and, of course it looked wrong. So now I check all vobs with MPC before encoding, but like I said, only found this problem 1x so far.
