Hello,
I am having difficulties getting ANY of my SoundForge\Sony Audio/Video editors to recognize my DivX encoded media. Specifically the audio! Most cases I open the encoded media, and the video lays itself along the timeline just fine, however the audio never opens at all resulting in the error mentioned later in this paragragh. The error isn't limited to Vegas 5 exclusively, I'll get it whenever I try to open the DivX encoded media in Vegas, Acid, or SoundForge. The exact repeated error that states in all these programs: "An error occurred during the current operation. An error occurred while opening a codec." (see attchmnt #1)
I get this error at any attempt to open the DivX media in the above mentioned software. I have tried to use "GSPOT" to determine if all the correct codecs are installed, but nothing "ill" can be found. I have looked in Vegas' Videos help documentation but no info can be found. If I use a program such as "Video Inspector" to determine the installed codecs on my machine(pc) and the info about the media file I wish to play nothing unusual is discovered again. Everything seems to be in check, still no audio stream to edit in Vegas, SoundForge, nor Acid. On my attachment, I have placed highlights and numbers in area's of concern or question. I hope they are still visable upon posting. The numbers indicate;
1. Error I get when trying to open file in program.
2. "Media Offline" is displayed on the timeline.
3. The media files' listed properties.
4. "Video Inspectors" corresponding info.
5. Showing my systems' installed codecs.
Please, if anyone can help me out, it would be nice to resolve and overcome my (lack of) editing issue. "A Big Thanks" to those who can offer their constructive help, Your time & help is greatly appreciated!
