4x burner - 4x or 8x media?

Hi,
I was wondering whether it made any difference whether I used 4x or 8x TDK DVD+R media with my 4x Lite-On DVD burner; perhaps one doesn't deteriorate as fast, or is more likely to burn without errors, etc. Thank you!

With the price so close and I suspect 8x media passsing more stringent QC, it is what I now buy. The Pioneer dvr105 I have starts writing faster with the 8x media.
